Investing in common-user infrastructure

Queensland is investing in enabling infrastructure and industry capability through the Queensland Resources Common User Facility (QRCUF) and the Flexi-Lab at Mackay's Resources Centre of Excellence.
Located in Townsville, the QRCUF supports contracted companies to test processing flowsheets and techniques at scale, produce market-ready samples and accelerate the transition from exploration to commercial production. By providing access to specialised common-user infrastructure that would otherwise be costly for individual proponents to develop, QRCUF is bringing more domestic processing and value-adding online in Queensland.
Complementing this capability, the new state-of-the-art Flexi-Lab provides industry, researchers and innovators with a space to test, prove and refine mineral processing techniques for a range of strategic and critical minerals.
Together, these facilities help bridge the gap between resource discovery and commercial development. Through strategic investment in shared infrastructure, the Queensland Government is helping proponents test, validate and commercialise new opportunities with greater confidence.
