Delivering investment-ready projects

The Queensland Government is positioning critical minerals projects for investment through the $250 million Queensland Critical Minerals Fund (QCMF), delivered by Queensland Investment Corporation. Offering flexible investment levers including equity, debt and hybrid structures, the QCMF supports upstream and downstream projects through critical stages of development, helping them to attract private capital.

By addressing funding gaps and supporting projects through early development stages, the QCMF helps de-risk projects and increases investor confidence in Queensland’s critical minerals sector. This strengthens Queensland’s reputation as a stable, investment-ready jurisdiction and a reliable partner in global supply chains.

This approach is already delivering results. In 2026, the fund provided $4.5 million to support Ark Mines's Sandy Mitchell Rare Earths Project near Mareeba, Far North Queensland. The investment will help progress the project towards a Final Investment Decision and unlock its high-value heavy mineral resources, and support engagement with domestic and international offtake partners.

Through initiatives such as the QCMF, the Queensland Government is accelerating project readiness and connecting proponents with capital. By supporting the transition from development to investment, Queensland is unlocking private investment, strengthening sovereign capability, and reinforcing its role as a secure global supplier of critical minerals.
