Our vision

The strategy sets a 5-year vision for Queensland's manufacturing industry to drive greater productivity and innovation in our economy, and expand access to global markets for our value-added products.

The Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Strategy 2025–30 sets out how we can build on our strong foundations, realise new opportunities and deliver a globally competitive and future-ready manufacturing industry over the next 5 years and beyond.

Manufacturing is a significant economic driver for the Queensland economy. It is Queensland’s fifth largest industry in terms of economic contribution and eighth largest for employment.

Manufacturing also supports many other industries—construction, energy, mining, transport, defence, medical, aerospace, primary industries and food production—either through upstream or downstream supply chains.

With strategic support from the Queensland Government, our local manufacturers are well positioned to seize emerging opportunities.
