Priority 5: Facilitate reduction of red tape
Manufacturing faces regulatory burden, potentially impacting competitiveness and hindering growth.
Through our manufacturing hubs, we provide Lean manufacturing workshops. Lean manufacturing can significantly contribute to reducing red tape, both in manufacturing and broader business contexts, by focusing on eliminating waste and streamlining processes.
Our manufacturing hubs also host a series of manufacturing leaders roundtables, providing a platform to discuss barriers to efficiency and productivity.
These issues are fed into review of regulatory frameworks, including by the Queensland Productivity Commission, and the Queensland Small Business Commissioner's focus on reducing red tape for small and family business.
Priority 5 actions
We'll work with Australian Government agencies, industry, procurement and supply chain specialists, and the vocational education and training (VET) sector to achieve our priority actions.
