Women in Manufacturing program

Encouraging more women to pursue a career in manufacturing is critical to the industry's continued growth, innovation and productivity.

Through the Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Strategy, the Queensland Government is supporting the attraction and retention of a highly skilled and inclusive workforce, including underrepresented cohorts such as women, First Nations peoples, migrants and people with different lived experiences.

We recognise the challenges experienced by women and girls that can limit the entry into the manufacturing industry. The Transforming Queensland Manufacturing Strategy responds to these challenges. It supports businesses to attract and retain women with a focus on increasing women's participation in traditionally male-dominated roles.

The Women in Manufacturing program includes several initiatives to support diversity, equity and inclusion in the manufacturing industry; to further women's leadership and development; and to celebrate and showcase the women in Queensland's manufacturing industry.
