Member for Burdekin
Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Minister for Manufacturing and Minister for Regional and Rural Development
Dale Last is Queensland’s Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Manufacturing, and Regional and Rural Development. He was born in Bundaberg and has a strong connection to the agricultural sector, with family ties to the sugar and cattle industries. Dale served over 25 years in the Queensland Police Service, including as Officer in Charge of the Townsville Police Station.
Dale held the role of Area Director for Emergency Management Queensland, helping to steer the region through natural disasters, and has also worked in employment. Prior to being elected to the Queensland Parliament Dale was responsible for the delivery of the Remote Jobs & Communities Program and Remote School Attendance Strategy on Palm Island.
In 2015, he was elected as the Member for Burdekin. Since being elected, Dale has been a member of the Crime and Corruption Committee and the Utilities, Science and Innovation Committee as well as being Shadow Minister Shadow Minister for Natural Resources and Mines, Corrective Services, Fire and Emergency Services, and Rural and Regional Affairs.
