Tourism development in the Southern Downs
In 2024 we delivered the Southern Downs tourism roundtable in partnership with the Southern Downs Regional Council (SDRC).
The roundtable was a collaboration to identify key opportunities, new products and strategic tourism development.
We spoke to:
- local tourism operators
- educational institutions
- government bodies.
This event was an important part of our commitment to holistic regional development by amplifying the voices of regional communities.
Focus areas
As we look towards the 2032 Olympics and beyond, focus areas for tourism in Southern Downs are:
- long-term sustainability
- regional diversification
- inclusive community engagement.

We’ll use the roundtable insights to determine how we maximise the region's economic and social potential.
