Priority 3: Securing global investment
Key areas of action
- Increase global demand and investment opportunities
- Cultivate high-value strategic investment partnerships
- Use Queensland's capital to enhance the investment appeal of critical minerals projects
Global competition for investment in critical minerals is intensifying.
Queensland is already attracting international attention as an investment destination, but concerted effort is needed to build on this momentum and secure global partnerships or risk losing investment opportunities to competing jurisdictions.
The Queensland Government is driving targeted investment attraction and international engagement activities through trade missions, hosting international delegations, partnering with the private sector and actively engaging with global and strategic investors.
Our global networks are identifying and pursuing investment leads and linking opportunities to companies in Queensland. These efforts are supported by a dedicated investment readiness program, equipping those companies to present investment-ready opportunities and attract capital into Queensland.
Curated and targeted engagement and marketing activities, including the development of the Queensland Critical Minerals Prospectus, are helping to further promote Queensland projects to specific global markets. The focus is on connecting investment-ready projects with government support programs and international investors to unlock capital and accelerate delivery.
Government partnerships and international frameworks are opening new doors for Queensland. As jurisdictions such as the United States, European Union, Japan and South Korea seek to secure critical minerals supply chains, Queensland is well-positioned to deepen strategic partnerships, attract capital and strengthen its role as a trusted supplier of critical minerals and value-added products.
Queensland's objective is clear: to become a globally recognised destination for investment in critical minerals and value-added industries.
