Minerals Acceleration Program
We are investing more than $19.8 million in a new Minerals Acceleration Program to support mineral exploration and project development across the state.
The program combines 2 complimentary initiatives, the Minerals Accelerator and Development Accelerator, to support the minerals project pipeline from exploration and discovery through to project development and investment readiness.
The investment will help unlock new opportunities in Queensland's world-class mineral provinces, support regional economic growth and attract investment in the minerals and metals needed for the global energy transition.
Minerals Accelerator
Funding: $13.3 million
The Minerals Accelerator will help reduce exploration uncertainty and identify high-potential mineral targets sooner, which will support more efficient investment in exploration and accelerate the pathway to new mineral discoveries.
The program will deliver geoscience and geophysical projects ranging from regional to deposit scale, providing industry with new data and insights to support exploration and investment decisions.
All data and findings generated through the program will be publicly released, ensuring the benefits are shared across the resources sector and the wider community.
Development Accelerator
Funding: $6.5 million
The Development Accelerator is a new initiative designed to help promising mineral projects to move efficiently from discovery to development.
The program will be developed in partnership with industry to identify where targeted government collaboration can deliver the greatest impact along the project development pathway.
By helping address barriers to project progression, the initiative aims to strengthen Queensland's project pipeline, attract investment and support new project development.
Delivering for Queensland
The Minerals Acceleration Program is a key action in Delivering Queensland’s Critical Minerals Future 2026-30, supporting a priority focussed on more exploration and faster project delivery.
