The resources industry employs around 80,000 people, supporting livelihoods in communities right across the state. Around two-thirds of all mining jobs are in our regions.

Royalties from Queensland’s resources industry help pay for schools, hospitals, roads and our essential front-line services such as police officers, teachers, doctors and nurses.

Queenslanders benefit from the billions in export revenue generated by the resources sector, which helps grow our economy and supports thousands of businesses across the state.

Resources industries have underpinned Queensland’s economic development for decades and will continue to propel our economy into the future.
